How fast does your firm answer, and call back?

A missed call can be a new case that never reached a person. Add last month’s phone log and see how many calls a person picked up, and how long missed callers waited for a call back.

1What it is and why it matters

A missed call can be a new case, waiting on you.

This free tool reads your phone log and answers two questions. When someone calls, does a person pick up? And when a call is missed, how long does the caller wait for a call back?

Your phone system already records both, buried in thousands of rows. The tool does the counting and puts each number next to the standard: a person picks up every call, and a missed caller gets a call back right away. Five minutes at most is the Firmatics standard.

of legal consumers named “slow to respond” as something that would put them off hiring a lawyer. Nothing was named more.

Martindale-Avvo survey of 2,357 people who had used its legal sites, December 2024. What people say, not measured behavior.

2What you’ll get

Three numbers, each next to the standard.

Here is the result for a made-up firm’s 30 days of calls, worked out by the same tool you’ll use. Your own numbers replace these when you add your file.

Where this firm should start: call-backs. A missed caller’s typical wait is 35 minutes, and 23 missed callers have no call back found in this log.

3How it works

Three steps, one at a time.

  1. 1Export your phone log.We show you every click. If someone else has the login, we write them a note.
  2. 2Check what we read.A quick look and a question or two, so nothing gets counted wrong.
  3. 3See your numbers. Each one next to the standard, like the example above.

4Check my firm, free

See your own numbers in one sitting.

Make a free account and the tool opens at step 1. Have last month’s phone log handy, or the name of whoever runs your phone system. No file? Inside, you can run a 10-minute test of your own phones instead.

Your file is read in your browser. Only the summary numbers are saved to your account, and you can turn that off.

5Rather not use our tool?

Run the same method in your own AI.

Some firms would rather keep everything in their own AI. The Speed-to-Lead Audit skill follows the same method: it reads your phone log, or your lead export and call log together, and writes the readout in your AI. It’s free with the same account, on the tool’s page.
